I have been a loyal Firefox user for years, and I am very disappointed with this version and I am considering changing to another browser. This is a Firefox bug that does need to be fixed. If the file is not open when I look for the file without opening Firefox, how can one delete the file? The error checking tool function does not apply to these problems as it occurs over several instances of installations on various systems and there is not any problems with these hard disks.
As this tip says, I need to delete the lock file parent.lock, which is only opened when Firefox is open and closes when the browser closes. I have followed the tips to resolve the "Firefox is already running but is not responding" from the support page at "" to no avail. In all cases, the systems have all of the recent updates, and current service packs installed. I have ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite (paid version and installed on multiple systems) and I have no intention to remove the application from this Vista Ultimate, or Vista Home Premium, or XP systems. When I tried to restart the system, I would be forced to do a hard restart. This would force an end task process in the Task Manager, which would not close. I would have to close the browser, and when I re-opened Firefox, it said that it was already open. I would not matter if there was only one or several tabs open the indicator would continue to spin and not open the pages. Recently, this problem started to rear its ugly head as Firefox 3.0.3 would arbitrarily stop responding when visiting several different websites. I would like to add my two cents to this dialogue. įinally, this is a Friendly Forum, and we do not tolerate attacks on anyone, including Program Developers, who are not here to defend themselves.
